The first event in our 2023-24 series commemorates Remembrance on November 12th, when we return to St. Augustine’s, Penarth to perform Brahms’ enchantingly beautiful Ein Deutsches Requiem, one of the greatest and most moving choral masterpieces of all time. Brahms’ own arrangement for piano duet accompaniment, first performed in 1871, brings clarity to the choral writing and offers an intimate experience in which Cantemus honours all who have fallen, and all who grieve.
