We had a wonderful time at our Christmas Charity Gala concert on 18th December in aid of Tenovus Cancer Care, and it’s great to hear that others enjoyed it too! Have a look at this great review (below) we received in the Western Mail, which described the concert as “spirit-filled and inspiring” and “impressive throughout”, summing up the evening as “a wonderful festive gift of music”.
It’s always lovely to get this sort of feedback, and particularly when the concert was in aid of such a great cause. We loved performing alongside the Barry Sing With Us Choir, whose enthusiastic singing nearly took the Cathedral roof off, as did the well-deserved applause they received from the near-capacity audience. Also in fine form were Llandaff Brass Concert, who pulled some spectacular fanfares out of the bag as well as a heartfelt rendition of ‘Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring’. The well-chosen readings from Tenovus patron and actress Leona Vaughan, and others connected with the charity, all helped make it an evening to remember.
A big thank you to all who took part, including Huw our Music Director and Peter King, our fantastic organist for the night. Look forward to seeing you all again next year – and in the meantime, we wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
